2022 has been a year with ups and downs. With 2023 on the horizon, now’s a great time to figure out ways to end 2022 on a high note at work. That way, you can close out your year at work with momentum. Plus, you can position yourself for a strong start at work in the new year.

Here are three tips to help you conclude 2022 on a high night.

1. Start Planning Today

Take a look at your work goals for 2022. Next, see which work goals you achieved and which ones you didn’t. You can then start creating work goals for 2023.

Set up work goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely (SMART) goals for work. These goals are terrific for anyone who wants to move forward with their current employer or find a new job soon. They help people track their progress as they achieve work and career milestones over a set period of time.

2. Expand Your Professional Network

Connect with coworkers and bond with them as the year comes to a close. Together, you and your peers can discuss how you performed in 2022 and what you can do better in 2023. This can help you, and your colleagues figure out ways to thrive as a team going forward.

Also, use LinkedIn to grow your professional network. If you already have a LinkedIn profile, review and update it. In addition, you can join groups on LinkedIn to connect with like-minded individuals across your industry.

Don’t forget to pursue networking events, either. Look for networking events on industry websites and LinkedIn. You may find local networking events, too. You can build relationships with other industry professionals by attending virtual or in-person networking events. These relationships can ultimately help you take the next step forward in your career.

3. Review Your Resume

Examine your resume and add any new certifications or degrees you earned in 2022. You could incorporate this information into your resume if you achieved any statistical milestones at work. You can even include details about any skills you added that can help you become a key contributor to an organization’s success.

Along with reviewing your resume, the end of the year is an ideal time to take stock of your career to date. If you find you are falling short of your career goals or unhappy in your current job, think about why you feel this way. It helps to write down your thoughts and feelings about your career. Once you do, you can start identifying ways to make 2023 a landmark year in your career.
